I’m Ellery Ng, a Singapore-based ontological coach working with executives who want to communicate with clarity, confidence, and presence – especially in situations that matter.

While some of my clients find me when searching for a life coach in Singapore, my work goes way beyond generic life coaching. I specialise in executive communication and confidence coaching, particularly using ontological and somatic methods.

Many of my clients come to me though they are subject-matter experts in their industries, driven, and capable, because they still find themselves stuck when it comes to moments that require confident communication and public speaking, such as:

  • speaking up freely in meetings
  • speaking with clarity and structure
  • asserting their opinions without offending others
  • engaging in high-stakes discussions with authority and calm
  • bringing impact through their presentations
  • navigating interpersonal dynamics and politics

If this sounds like you, I can help you through executive coaching in Singapore.

My Coaching Methods – Ontological, Somatic & Practical

Executive communication coach Ellery Ng guiding a client through an embodied communication exercise during an ontological coaching session

The core of my methods is ontological coaching – an approach that looks at how your body, emotions and language come together to influence how you see things, and how you choose to respond under duress. In the context of public speaking coaching, I sometimes refer to this as the Embodied Voice Approach. Rather than focusing only on techniques, scripts, or mindset hacks, we work with:

• how your nervous system responds under pressure
• how emotions shape your thinking and voice
• how your body, language, and presence interact in real time

This makes my coaching especially relevant for leaders and professionals who already know what to do, but find that knowledge doesn’t translate into results when stakes are high.

In practice, this means my work overlaps naturally with…

• executive coaching
• communication – especially in public speaking or large group settings
• interpersonal skills development
• confidence and emotional mastery

… without reducing human complexity to formulas.

My Professional Background & Credentials

I’m a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and a Newfield Certified Coach (NCC) trained in ontological coaching through the Newfield Network.

I’m also the first Embodied Yoga Principles Certified Coach in Asia, which informs the somatic dimension of my work – helping you reclaim your body as your critical interface with the world.

My work is also informed by the fields of Gestalt psychotherapy (specifically the Cycle of Experience) and organisational development (OD). To this end, I hold a certificate for The Diagnosis and Design of Effective Organisations from the Centre for Organisational Resilience and Inclusion.

These credentials matter not as labels, but because they shape the depth, ethics, and rigour of how I coach.

Coaching for Real-Life Scenarios, Based on Real-Life Experience

Ellery Ng speaking on stage during a brand storytelling presentation, displaying the real-life skills he bases his coaching on today.

I began my professional life pursuing a career in character animation, eventually co-founding an animation training and production business, which ran for 16 years. During this time, I developed myself from an artist, into a trainer, a team leader and ultimately a facilitator. The last few years of that saw me helping other businesses through brand-storytelling.

Hence, the way that I coach you in executive communication, public speaking and navigating interpersonal dynamics, is gleaned from 16 years of real-life experience (and counting), where I had to hone these skills to do well for myself.

Serendipitously, back in animation school, I studied how thoughts, emotions, and the body come together to create believable, compelling performances in on-screen characters. Today, as an ontological coach, this same body-emotion-language lens allows me to recognise patterns in how clients perceive, respond, and communicate under pressure, and to guide them in expanding their range of options in high-stakes situations.

I also find this body of work to be God-honoring. It effectively describes and aligns with how we are created while being rooted in practical principles that bring rich possibilities for life.

The Clientele I Typically Work With

Most of my clients are:

• existing or newly-promoted managers, directors, and senior executives
• technical experts who need to communicate outside of their expertise
• people who wish to lead or influence – from a stage or at the table

Most often, they seek me for coaching when:

• they need to communication with a stronger or ‘more executive’ presence

• anxiety or overthinking makes their communication unclear

• interpersonal dynamics drains them or impedes their career progress

• traumatic past events have lowered their confidence

• they have moved into roles that involve public speaking or leading others

If you’re looking for quick fixes or surface-level advice, my work may not be a fit. But if you’re willing to activity uncover your blindspots, experiment to find new ways of showing up, and build your interpersonal capacity… then we may work well together.
